More Brilliant Charities Join BetterPoints West Yorkshire!

The BetterPoints West Yorkshire family keeps on growing – and we couldn't be more excited to introduce seven more incredible local charities who've joined the programme!

These are organisations rooted right in our communities, doing life-changing work every single day. And now, your walking, cycling, wheeling or and public transport journeys can help fund that work. Your daily travel has never meant more.

Here's who's just joined the BetterPoints family.

In Calderdale

St Augustine's Centre, Halifax Since 1968, St Augustine's Centre has been a warm, welcoming space in Halifax for people seeking sanctuary – refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants rebuilding their lives in Calderdale. From English language classes and immigration advice to free hot lunches, a community shop, a salon and social activities, St Augustine's offers the practical support and human connection people need to start over with dignity. In 2023 alone, they supported over 1,600 people from 73 countries speaking 58 languages. A truly remarkable place.

In Leeds

LS14 Trust Born from the community it serves, the LS14 Trust has been bringing people together across Seacroft, Swarcliffe and Whinmoor since 2009. Community-owned and community-led, the Trust runs everything from The Seacroft Pantry, where people can redeem BetterPoints to youth activities, mental health support, arts groups and community events – all rooted in the belief that people have the power to create positive, lasting change in their own neighbourhoods. With over 1,000 members and a team that genuinely loves LS14, this is grassroots community development at its very best.

Simon on the Streets An independent charity offering unlimited practical and emotional support to people experiencing homelessness across Leeds and Bradford, Simon on the Streets goes to people where they are – on the streets, day and night. Unlike many services, they don't give up when someone is housed; they stay in people's lives long after they're off the streets, supporting them to make sustainable, positive changes. Last year, they signposted nearly 4,000 people to specialist services and helped house over 500 individuals into temporary or emergency accommodation. This is what long-term, relationship-led care looks like.

Touchstone Founded in 1982, Touchstone is a Leeds-based mental health charity with a vision to inspire communities and transform lives. With a particular specialism in supporting Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, Touchstone provides a wide range of services – from crisis support and community wellbeing to peer support and social prescribing – across Leeds, Kirklees and Wakefield. Their Here For You service offers same-day urgent mental health support, accessible to anyone aged 16 or over, every day of the year, no referral needed. Inclusive, compassionate and deeply rooted in the communities they serve.

OPAL (Older People's Action in the Locality) Based at the Welcome In Community Centre in Leeds 16, OPAL has been reducing loneliness and supporting older people across Cookridge, Tinshill, Ireland Wood, Holt Park, Adel and Bramhope since 2002. From shopping trips and volunteer transport to lunch clubs, exercise classes, dementia support and digital help, OPAL provides practical care and genuine companionship to over 700 older people. Their CEO was awarded an MBE for her services to the community. Warm, resourceful and endlessly dedicated to helping people live independently and happily.

Leeds Rhinos Foundation  The official charity of Leeds Rhinos, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation harnesses the power of sport to deliver real, lasting change across the community. Working in schools, community clubs and health settings, the Foundation delivers projects in sport, health and education – from rugby camps and festivals to programmes supporting people living with dementia, Parkinson's and arthritis. Given that BetterPoints West Yorkshire is already proud to be partnered with Leeds Rhinos, having the Foundation join our charity roster feels like a natural and brilliant fit. Changing lives through sport – one journey at a time.

Martin House Children's Hospice |Martin House has been providing specialist palliative care and support to children and young people with life-shortening conditions since 1987 – all completely free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Based in Boston Spa near Wetherby, Martin House supports more than 550 children and families across West, North and East Yorkshire every year, offering everything from planned short breaks and symptom management to end-of-life care and bereavement support. Named UK Charity of the Year in 2025, Martin House represents the very best of what compassion in action looks like.

Every Journey. Every Point. Real Impact.

Every time you walk to work, cycle to the shops, wheel to the park or hop on a bus, you're earning points that can go directly to the causes closest to your heart. You can support one charity, spread your points across several, or switch each month – it's entirely up to you.

And this is just the beginning. More charities are joining BetterPoints West Yorkshire all the time.
