What is BetterPoints and how does it work?

BetterPoints is a free app that motivates people across West Yorkshire to travel actively and live more healthily.

Whether it's walking, wheeling, cycling or using public transport, users earn rewards for making small, sustainable choices each day. They’re encouraged through positive feedback, personal goals and inspiring stories from others in their community.

‍

Every time someone completes a healthy or sustainable journey, they earn BetterPoints – a digital currency they can spend at local businesses like yours or donate to charity. They also collect BetterTickets for prize draws, unlocking even more chances to win.

‍

Each BetterPoints project is rooted in the local area, and that’s where you come in. We’re always looking for brilliant local traders to partner with, helping drive footfall to your business while supporting a healthier, greener West Yorkshire.

How can I get involved?

There are 3 ways businesses can get involved. All of the following can be set up online or in-store. Once you fill in the form at the bottom of the page, your local Programme Manager will be in touch to talk through the best option for you.

Vouchers/Items: BetterPoints would buy some vouchers or items of a specific value for your business. These could be things from money-off vouchers to coffees to services. We would reimburse you for these directly into your bank account. These are paid on the first Friday of the month on voucher balances over £20.

Discounts: To bring customers to your business, you can offer a discount for BetterPoints users. This could be a general discount in-store, or for a particular product or service.

‍

Sponsorship: We run regular campaigns and competitions, and we are always looking for businesses to partner with. This is usually in the form of prizes in exchange for promotion and collaboration, but we are open to new ideas if you have them.
