Meet Your Local Charity Partners

We're absolutely thrilled to introduce the first wave of brilliant local charities who've joined BetterPoints West Yorkshire!

These are the organisations doing incredible work right across our region – and now, every time you walk, cycle, wheel or take the bus, you can donate the points you earn directly to them. Your everyday journeys can now support the causes that matter most to West Yorkshire communities.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be profiling each of these charities in detail, sharing their stories, celebrating their work, and showing you exactly how your donated points make a real difference – as well as announcing more West Yorkshire charities joining the app.

But for now, let us introduce the incredible eleven charities who are already part of the BetterPoints family.

In Bradford

Bradford Cat Watch Rescue and Sanctuary Dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming cats across Bradford and beyond, this volunteer-run charity provides a safe haven for cats in need while working tirelessly to find them loving forever homes.

Better Lives The official charity of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, Better Lives works to enhance patient care and staff wellbeing across Bradford's NHS services, funding projects that make a genuine difference to healthcare in the district.

In Calderdale

‍

Yorkshire Air Ambulance Serving 5 million people across Yorkshire, this life-saving charity provides rapid response emergency air ambulance services – funded entirely by donations. Every second counts when it comes to saving lives across our region.

Overgate Hospice Based in Elland, Overgate Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support to patients and families across Calderdale, offering compassion, dignity and expert care when it's needed most.

In Kirklees

‍

The Welcome Centre, Huddersfield One of the UK's largest independent food banks, The Welcome Centre provides emergency food packs, essentials, and one-to-one advocacy and support to individuals and families in crisis across South Kirklees. Last year alone, they provided over 368,000 meals to those in need.

The Bread and Butter Thing Operating food hubs across Kirklees and beyond, this charity helps people stretch their food budgets further by providing affordable, quality food alongside support and community connection – tackling food poverty with dignity and respect.

In Leeds

St George's Crypt For over 85 years, St George's Crypt has been supporting people experiencing homelessness and poverty in Leeds, providing accommodation, meals, support services and a pathway to independent living.

Opera North One of the UK's leading opera companies, Opera North brings world-class opera, orchestral concerts and creative learning programmes to communities across Leeds and the North, making the arts accessible to everyone.

Cure INAD UK A Leeds-based charity working to fund research into Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD), a rare and devastating childhood disease. Every pound raised brings hope to affected families and moves research closer to finding a cure.

Women's Counselling and Therapy Service Providing specialist counselling and therapy to women and girls across Leeds who have experienced trauma, abuse or mental health challenges – offering safe, supportive spaces for healing and recovery.

In Wakefield

‍

Wakefield District Sight Aid Supporting blind and partially sighted people across Wakefield district with practical help, emotional support, social activities and specialist equipment – helping people maintain independence and quality of life.

These eleven charities represent the very best of West Yorkshire – organisations that care deeply about our communities and work tirelessly to make our region a better place for everyone.

And here's the brilliant part: you don't have to choose just one. You can donate points to as many charities as you like, whenever you like. Split your points between causes, support different charities each month, or commit to one organisation close to your heart. It's entirely up to you.
